Exceptional Value
Not-for-profit New Horizons provides elegant senior living at very reasonable prices, with monthly rates for most units ranging between $2,400 and $3,800. A full list of our fees is available online.
The basic monthly fee also includes three daily homecooked meals, weekly housekeeping, 24-hour front desk reception, parking, all utilities except phone and cable, and more. Because New Horizons is a continuum of care community, independent living residents who find they need a little more help with daily activities can easily opt into a variety of assistive services without moving to a new apartment much less a new community. Contact our team to learn more about high-value senior living at New Horizons.
Another feature that sets New Horizons apart from other assisted living and independent living communities is our fully refundable entrance deposit, which is returned to either the resident or his/her estate upon the resident's departure from the community.
New Construction
To accommodate our growing resident community, we have built 17 brand new senior apartments. The Courtyard Suites residence wing is equipped with well-appointed common areas, including an expansive veranda overlooking a picturesque courtyard.
This beautiful and spacious retirement living option is available for both assisted living and independent living. Each unit in Courtyard Suites has a unique floor plan, and many feature 6’x8’ bay windows, king-size bedrooms, extra closets, individual climate control, and ample natural light. Monthly rates for “Courtyard Suites” apartments are $2,895-$4,295, making them a high-value choice.

Nonprofit Senior Living
These low rates are made possible by Cummings Foundation, which owns and operates New Horizons. The Foundation effectively absorbs all cost-of-living and operational increases on behalf of residents, providing residents with an exceptionally stable fee schedule. In fact, no New Horizons resident has had an increase to his or her basic monthly service fee in more than 25 years.
One of the three largest private foundations in New England, Cummings Foundation awards at least $25 million each year to a diverse group of local nonprofits in Middlesex, Essex, and Suffolk counties in eastern Massachusetts.
One hundred percent of the New Horizons at Choate resident population has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
